According to the decision of the Executive Bard of World Health Organisation the Polish National Centre for Workplace Health Promotion – a department of Nofer Institute of Occupational Medicine was awarded a prize for research in health promotion for 2009 founded by the Kuwait State. According to the prize roles of procedures each WHO member state can nominate to the competition only one candidate each year. The prize is given to a private person, institution or nongovernmental organisation for outstanding scientific achievements.

The award ceremony toom place during the Sixty-second World Health Assembly on the 21st May 2009 in Geneva.

The jury of the prize appreciated the fact that the Centre is the only scientific and implementation institution which for the beginning of 90. XXth century has been carrying out research and analysing the state and conditions of health promotion of working population in Poland and making implementation use of gathered date. What is more, the Centre has been taking part in numerous international scientific and implementation projects promoting health.

The team of the National Centre for Workplace Health Promotion – the State Kuwait Prize for Research in Health Promotion laureate – would like to kindly thank all its Partners with whom had the opportunity to collaborate in realisation of various scientific projects. The Centre also thanks all institutions which financial support enabled carrying out all the research appreciated by the World Health Organisation and the Prize Foundation.
