On the 12th of June a meeting with professor June Fisher, the WHO and PAHO expert, took place. Professor June Fisher is an expert on drivers’ health and safety. For many years she worked as an engineering lecturer on Stanford University, where she still acts as an expert. She also cooperated with the School of Engineering, Purdue University. At the request of PAHO (Pan American Health Organization) professor Fisher is now creating a handbook for trainers regarding measures of protection against occupational needlestick injuries. During the meeting in the Institute she discussed issues concerning occupational needlestick injuries and measures of their prevention.
