The conference was organized as part of the project ‘Integrated monitoring system of psycho-physical state of vehicle drivers in order to minimize the threats in traffic’ co-financed  by the European Union within Innovative Economy Operational Programme.

Employees of municipal enterprises, transport companies and transport management from all over Poland took part in the meeting. The project manager, Alicja Bortkiewicz - professor of NIOM, discussed the use of simulators in examinations of drivers and the director of ETC-PZL Aerospace Industries, Zbigniew Uchman, presented the applicability of simulators in the process of drivers training. In addition, the employees of NIOM made the participants of the meeting familiar with the issue of diseases such as: diabetes, epilepsy or ailments associated with the organ of sight and their influence on driving. The issue of the influence of circadian rhythms and physiological functions on the ability to drive was also raised as well as the prophylactic programme which was introduced among drivers of Lodz public transport vehicles – MPK was summarized.

The workshops during which the first in Poland simulator of bus driving was presented to the participants of the conference constituted the most important part of the meeting. By the use of the simulator they, themselves could test their skills and abilities.
