ECNIS2 Second General Assembly takes place on the 6th and 7th of May in Borowiecki Hotel, Lodz, Poland. During the Assembly, which will be opened with an introductory lecture entitled ‘ECNIS-EIEC – towards integration in Europe of research on biomarkers in cancer’ delivered by the director of NIOM, prof. Konrad Rydzyński, a discussion concerning agreement on the form of cooperation between ECNIS and EIEC after termination of ECNIS2 is planned.

Additionally, over the 6th and 9th of May the course on ‘Nutrition and Environmental Carcinogens’ addressed to PhD students, post-docs, senior scientists as well as professionals from authorities and industry is held in Nofer Institute of Occupational Medicine in Lodz, Poland. The course is organized by ECNIS Network of Excellence and The European Institute of Environmental Cancer (EIEC) as part of ECNIS2 project. During the course the employees of NIOM including Edyta Reszka, Beata Janasik, Marek Zieliński , Beata Pepłońska and Ewa Jabłońska are going to deliver presentations concerning cancer epidemiology and laboratory presentations of techniques of determination of carcinogens in biological material and biomonitoring of exposure to dioxins.
