On the 23rd and 24th of April 2015 the third meeting of the European Consortium of the project “ABClean – Making the EU Clean of Asbestos” is held in the Nofer Institute of Occupational Medicine in Lodz.

The ABClean project is an international educational program towards improvement of the conditions of Hygiene and Safety at Work in construction companies, where exposure to asbestos dust occurs. Its objective is to provide knowledge necessary to minimize the risk posed by ignoring appropriate preventive, safety and environment protection measures during works, in the case of which the risk of asbestos dust release occurs. Its goal is also to disseminate practical skills concerning removal and disposal of asbestos-containing waste.

Finally, the ABClean initiative aims at creation of a standardized European program for asbestos management that will include environmental requirements, risk prevention and health issues.

The partners in the project, apart from NIOM, are: Equipo Humano SL (Spain), Novotec Consultores, SA (Spain), European Asbestos Risks Association Onlus (Italy), The Environmental Academy Ltd. (Great Britain), PO Vilnius Jerusaleum Labor Market Training Center (Lithuenia), European Federation of Building and Wood Workers (Belgium) and Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (Finland).
