Laboratory supervised by Maciej Stępnik, MD, PhD has been has been selected for inclusion within the European Union Network of Laboratories (EU-NETVAL).

On December 7, 2015 Molecular Toxicology Unit in the Department of Toxicology and Carcinogenesis, NIOM, has been appointed a member of the European Union Network of Laboratories for the Validation of Alternative Methods (EU-NETVAL) established by the European Commission in the context of Directive 2010/63 for the protection of animals used for scientific purposes. The manager of the laboratory – Maciej Stępnik, MD, PhD – received a letter of Appointment of the facility as a member of EU-NETVAL from the Head of Unit, and EURL ECVAM - Maurice Whelan.
EU-NETVAL's mission is to provide support for EURL ECVAM validation studies that serve to assess the reliability and relevance of alternative methods that have a potential to replace, reduce or refine the use of animals for scientific purposes. Please find attached the EU-NETVAL Terms of Reference
