The European Commission has announced the official membership of the Mission Board for the new Horizon Europe Framework Programme.

The experts whose names have been announced by the Research Commissioner Carlos Moedas, are members of the board of five research and innovation missions, which constitute the programme Horizon 2020. The names of the Board Chairs were announced at the beginning of July.
Each Mission Board is constituted by 15 experts, including the Chair. Among 75 experts chosen for the Mission Board, there are 4 Polish ones:

Konrad Rydzyński  (Mission Board for Cancer),
Monika Stankiewicz (Mission Board for Healthy Oceans, Seas, Coastal and Inland Waters),
Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz (Mission Board for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities),
Marta Pogrzeba (Mission Board for Soil Health and Food).

Horizon 2021-2027 is a new programme of the European Union financing research and innovation. It follows the ongoing Horizon 2020 Framework Programme. The new Horizon not only provides a larger budget in comparison to its predecessor, but also a new structure.
