Morbidity among employees working with computers

Abstract

The health condition of 582 persons, including 477 employees working with computers and 105 persons performing other functions is presented in this paper. The morbidity rates were compared (in general and in particular). Morbidity rates among employees are presented in correlation with age and duration of employment. In order to exclude the effect of the age factor on the results, the numerical data were standardized. It was found that diseases of the organ of sight, locomotor system, digestive tract and arterial hypertension occurred most frequently in the study subjects. Significant difference was noted in case of the organ of sight diseases and neurosis.
