Abstract
The principles of performing employee's prophylactic medical
examinations are regulated by the Labor Code and a proper executive
deed. There are also other regulations that concern particular groups
of workers - like drivers. The range and frequency of medical
examination is being established by the doctor performing the
examination, based on "Guidelines to workers' prophylactic medical
examinations". These guidelines do not concern particular jobs, but are
related to occupational exposure to physical, chemical, biological and
psychosocial hazards. Driving is a kind of work that requires total
psychomotor efficiency. This article presents standards of prophylactic
medical examination of drivers who perform commercial "road transport",
drivers that do not come under the "road transportation" act, and other
persons that make use of their driving qualifications for occupational
purposes. Med Pr 2008;59(1):39-47
