Abstract
Background: This article presents the results of an assessment of occupational exposure to carcinogenic compounds in workers of iron foundries. Material and Methods: The assessment was based on the determined concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), benzene and formaldehyde. Results and Conclusions: The investigation showed that workers engaged at different stages of the production of iron casts are exposed to carcinogenic substances. This is particularly true forcasters of moulds and cast strikers.Key words
