Integrated system for monitoring the psycho-physical condition of vehicle drivers in order to minimize hazards in road traffic
Head: Prof. Alicja Bortkiewicz, PhD
The aim of the project is to create the first in Poland integrated system for research and training targeted at drivers and equipped with the simulation of driving model along with the set of methods for psychological and physiological examinations of vehicle drivers.
The detailed aims include:
– assessment of the usefulness of physiological methods for objective evaluation of changes in the states of fatigue and sleepiness,
– assessment of the influence of monotony and static load in the field of the musculoskeletal and circulatory system on the development of fatigue in drivers,
– assessment and forecasting changes in the psychomotor performance of drivers connected with exposure to harmful and burdensome factors of work environment using computer simulation models.
The Nofer Institute of Occupational Medicine is a coordinator of the project and works on it in collaboration with the Military Institute of Aviation Medicine. Prof. A. Bortkiewicz, PhD is responsible for project management. The realization of the project involves: carrying out medical examinations, examinations of psychomotor performance and physiological reaction to work, neurophysiological tests, ophthalmological examination and motor system examination in model conditions.
